Château de Candale 2022 – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru

Château de Candale 2022 – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru

The nose is racy, tense, peppery and offers a fine, powerful and sunny grain. We find notes of wild blackcurrant, pepper and slight notes of ripe fruit associated with almost Mediterranean barrier hints as well as fine hints of liquorice, toasted/caramelized and a discreet hint of black olive. The palate is nicely structured, fresh and fruity with balance and a tangy structure which brings a spherical side. There is a little creaminess in the background and a lovely tangy freshness. We have notes of creamy blackberry, bright blackcurrant and slight notes of roasted strawberries associated with touches of racy minerality, an almost subtle sappy hint in the background and a fine hint of infusion bringing gourmandise.  There is even a slight sweet and saline hint on the lingering finish. The wine is sunny and fresh at the same time. Good length.
