Château Daugay 2021 Saint-Émilion Grand Cru

Château Daugay 2021 Saint-Émilion Grand Cru

(57% Merlot, 23% Cabernet Franc, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon) The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose offers depth, gourmandise and texture, combined with smoky and spicy touches. It expresses aromas of juicy morello cherry, red plum, crushed strawberry, black plum, amarena cherry in the background, as well as a hint of blackcurrant and blackberry. We also find a touch of torrefaction (toasted hazelnut with a hint of caramel), dark chocolate, sweet spices (vanilla, licorice, cinnamon in the background), a sweet hint of raspberry jam, as well as the freshness of mint pepper and peony. On the palate, the wine is supple, enveloping and juicy, with a fine volume and soft tannins. The flavors are gourmand and fruity: we find notes of ripe wild strawberry, black plum, red plum, raspberry coulis and crushed blackcurrant, combined with notes of mint chocolate, liquorice, vanilla and clove, as well as a touch of peony. Beautiful persistence with notes of chocolate cherry and a powdery hint of cocoa. A wine with roundness and structure, all in balance and freshness.
