The nose is elegant, racy and offers a certain clayey power as well as a nice racy grain. We find notes of wild blackberry and sense of place (local biotope) associated with touches of crushed blackcurrant, liquorice/zan as well as a hint of crushed strawberry, a discreet hint of cinnamon/clove and a very discreet hint of sweet pepper (in the background). The palate is fruity, and offers juiciness, a nice tangy frame, accuracy, a certain tension, suavity, suppleness and juicy/tangy fruit. It expresses notes of morello cherry, blackcurrant and small notes of purple plum associated with touches of bright red berries, zan, nutmeg, sweet blond tobacco and a subtle almost vanilla hint. Tannins are sapid and gourmand. Fine chew and a nice sapidity on the finish/persistence. A good balance on the good bitters. Good length.
