Château d’Aiguilhe 2024 – Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux

The nose is velvety, textured, gourmand, yet delicate. It expresses notes of fresh red and black fruits (morello cherry, blueberry, crisp strawberry, raspberry, red currants), complemented by an integrated herbaceous touch (dried mint, fresh wild mint, blackcurrant leaf in the background), a slight hint of liquorice, nutmeg, peony, violet in the background, as well as limestone minerality. The palate is straight, chiseled, yet enveloping, with a tangy attack, flavors of red cherry, a hint of fresh cranberries, blackcurrant, raspberry, crisp strawberry, red currants, complemented by liquorice, nutmeg, peppery and slightly woody touches (dried pine needles, liquorice, toasted hazelnut), as well as a delicate limestone mineral frame on the persistence, a hint of blackcurrant leaf and violet in the background. The tannins are polished, but firm, without being astringent.
