Château Croix Cardinale 2023 – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru

(52% Cabernet Franc, 7% Cabernet Sauvignon, 41% Merlot) Lovely graphite nose, deep, fresh and which offers a lovely racy grain (calcareous type). We find notes of violet, ripe/fresh wild cassis and small notes of cornflower associated with touches of small dense black berries (but fresh), lily as well as hints of pepper, a fine hint of tobacco and an imperceptible hint of toast. The palate is fruity, balanced and offers freshness, juiciness, shine, sparkle, a lovely definition as well as a lovely chiseled side. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy blackberry, bright cassis and small notes of cornflower associated with touches of bright fruits, hints of chocolate, toast as well as a discreet hint of toasted almond. Lovely chewiness and energy. The tannins are tasty, fresh and very discreetly iodized/saline. Nice limestone imprint.
