Château Croix Cardinale 2021 – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru

The nose is fruity and reveals a certain intensity, power with finesse, velvety aromatics. We find notes of boysenberry, violet and more slightly camphor combined with touches of morello cherry, star anise, a very discreet touch of sweet spices, nutmeg, caramelisation. The palate is nicely fresh, flowery, acidic and has minerality, acidic structure, good work with bitter taste, a nice freshness, energy, good definition, nice dynamics. On the palate this wine expresses fresh/juicy cherry, juicy redcurrant and slightly fresh blackcurrant notes combined with touches of fresh violet, small berry and slightly more aniseed, camphor, chocolate, fine toasted/hazelnut toastiness. Good length. The tannins are precise, fine and supple. Sweetness and finesse on the finish.
