Château Couhins-Lurton 2018 – Pessac-Léognan

The wine offers a beautiful dense, deep, delicate wine dress. The nose is elegant and offers a small power, a certain delicacy, an aromatic precision and density. It reveals notes of pulpy/generous black cherry, pulpy blackberry, small notes of crushed strawberry associated with touches of violet, graphite, small fleshy/juicy black fruits as well as a hint of cornflower, camphor, Sichuan pepper and very discreet hints of chocolate. The palate is fruity, beautifully racy and offers juiciness, gourmandize, a beautiful definition as well as a beautiful suavity, deepness, density, silkiness and a beautiful acidulous frame. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy cassis, pulpy/generous black cherry, small notes of crushed raspberry associated with touches of fleshy/juicy blueberry, cornflower, lily, graphite as well as small hints of caramelization, bourbon vanilla, toasted, a discreet hint of cuben pepper, mild tobacco and an imperceptible iodine hint (in the background). Tannins are elegant, well-built and silky. A discreet bitter hint of cocoa in the finish. The finish/persistence that becomes tighter and tighter. A beautiful precise, elegant, fleshy but full of finesse wine.
