Château Côte de Baleau 2023 – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, Grand Cru Classé

Lovely fresh, fruity nose that offers a lovely very fine and stretched grain as well as an airiness. All in accuracy. We find notes of boysenberry, violet and small notes of spices associated with touches of incense, pepper as well as hints of small pulpy blue fruits, a hint of pulpy/fairly ripe strawberry and a delicate hint of star anise. The palate is nicely built, nicely mellow, fresh and offers a certain vibrancy. An airy and stretched character. On the palate this wine expresses notes of juicy/pulpy blackberry, pulpy/shiny cassis and small notes of cornflower associated with delicate touches of small shiny blue fruits, hints of crushed raspberry as well as a hint of toast, tobacco, cardamom and a subtle hint of toasted hazelnut. Good length. A lovely freshness and a chiseled side.
