Château Chouteau 2021 – Lussac Saint-Emilion

Château Chouteau 2021 – Lussac Saint-Emilion

The wine has a ruby colour of medium intensity. The nose is a bit closed and needs to be aired. It expresses notes of morello cherry, black plum, cruched blackberry and wild stawberry, associated with touches of dried mint, sweet blond tabaco, as well as a subtle spicy side ( liquorice, nutmeg, cardamom), as well as delicate and barely perceptible woody touches ( warm wood, toasted hazelnut). There are also notes of violet in the background. The mouth is fragrant in attack, with more perceptible woody notes (fresh wood, toasted hazelnut in the background). Then, there are fruity notes of morello cherry, black plum, strawberry, blueberry and fresh strawberry, associated with a slight spicy hint of liquorice, cardamom and nutmeg, as well as a floral touche of violet. Tannins are fine and powedery, but rather tight and slightly sour. The finish is chiselled, with a mouth watering acidity, notes of acidulous fruits ( bigarreau cherry, redcurrant), as well as a touche of dark chocolate.
