The nose offers depth, concentration and density. It expresses notes of juicy and ripe fruits (black plum, wild blackberry, morello cherry, wild strawberry, crushed blackcurrant), combined with a touch of cherry compote, roasted red cherry, as well as aromas of sweet spices (licorice, nutmeg, white pepper, ground cumin), flowers (peony, dried rose), roasting (caramelized hazelnut, cocoa, dark chocolate), as well as dried mint and heated wood. The palate is greedy, with ripe and juicy fruits on the attack (blackberry, black plum, crushed raspberry, morello cherry, roasted red cherry), then complemented by notes of roasting (cocoa, toasted hazelnut, dark chocolate), sweet spices (licorice, vanilla, cardamom, cumin), dried mint (even menthol) and flowers (fresh peony, dried rose). The tannins are powerful and firm, gripping. The finish is persistent, greedy, tangy and juicy, which helps balance the dry sensation of tannins. Good bitterness on the finish, which ends on a greedy note of chocolate cherry. A well-constructed, structured wine, with good substance.
