Château Cadet-Pontet 2021 Saint-Émilion Grand Cru

The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose offers freshness and a subtle herbaceous notes (dried mint, fresh peppermint, a hint of blackcurrant leaf and thyme), combined with gourmand fruity aromas (wild strawberry, morello cherry, roasted red cherry, blackberry, plum black, red plum), with a savoury spiciness (nutmeg, liquorice, a touch of cumin), as well as a sweet hint of chocolate cherry and peony. The palate expresses tangy fruit on the attack (red cherry, raspberry, strawberry), combined with notes of black plum, wild blackberry and morello cherry in the mid-palate, as well as notes of liquorice, nutmeg, roasting (coffee, heated wood), dried mint and peony. The tannins are sapid, cocoa-like, but slightly tight and dry. The finish is juicy, tangy and salivating, with good bitterness and gourmet notes of chocolate cherry and coffee in the background.
