The nose is elegant and complex. It reveals notes of ripe black fruits / “kirshés fruits” (plum, blackberry), licorice, leather and tobacco. The palate is elegant, well built, mineral, relatively fleshy and offers a beautiful texture. Despite its age this wine maintains a small freshness in the mouth. It reveals notes of ripe fruits or slightly “kirshés” (blueberry, black currant, fig, plum and reveals black cherry) combined with spices (especially cocoa, black pepper and slight notes of coffee). The tannins are fine, flexible, always present but slightly grainy. This wine is elegant, quite gourmand, complex and slightly austere. Good length.
