Château Bouscaut 2022 – Pessac-Léognan, Grand Cru Classé

The nose is aromatic, fruity, with expressive notes of cassis, damson plum, tangy blueberry, morello cherry and tangy bigarreau cherry as well as crushed raspberry. We find a fragrant and expressive floral side (peony, violet) as well as fresh vanilla, fresh liquorice (liquorice stick), tending towards star anise, nutmeg as well as fresh peppermint, even sap. A pleasant touch of chocolate, tangy cocoa nibs and herbaceous side of rose stem which appear after aeration. The mouth is full, rich and gourmand, while remaining airy. On the attack of fruits (morello cherry, bigarreau, cassis, ripe black plum, fragrant wild raspberry), sweet spices (licorice, star anise, cumin, nutmeg), peony, violet, with a more pronounced toasted hint than on the nose (toasted hazelnut, toasted wood), associated with notes of dried and roasted herbs (roasted rosemary, dried mint). The tannins are solid, well-built, with a firm but fine grain. Great structure, firmness, which must open and develop, beautiful reserved concentration and density. Good length.
