The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity (even deep). The nose offers density and complexity, a fleshy and fruity side as well as lots of freshness. It expresses notes of ripe morello cherry, a hint of roasted red cherry, blackcurrant, black plum, a touch of wild strawberry and roasted raspberry, associated with notes of sweet spices (vanilla, liquorice, a very fine touch cinnamon, nutmeg, roasted coriander seeds), torrefaction (coffee, toasted hazelnut), herbs (mint, fresh tobacco, pine needles), with a light sappy touch and a fine floral bouquet (fresh peony, cornflower) . The palate is enveloping and gourmand, and at the same time straight and precise. It expresses the flavors of ripe morello cherry, wild strawberry, blackcurrant, black plum and blackcurrant, combined with tasty spicy notes (licorice, crushed coriander seeds, nutmeg), coffee, toasted notes, as well as a herbaceous hint (dried mint, fresh tobacco, pine needles) and floral (fresh peony, cornflower, a hint of violet in the background). The tannins are tight and structured, slightly grippy on the finish, but balanced by the roundness and density of the fruit. The finish is persistent, with salivating acidity, juiciness and good bitterness. A fragrant, complex and structured wine, with tension and good potential.
