Château Biston Brillette 2023 – Moulis-en-médoc

The nose is aromatic, gourmand and chocolatey. We find notes of morello cherry in chocolate, ripe black plum, wild blackberry in the background, blackcurrant, as well as a perceptible and present woody hints (fresh wood, sappy note and fresh pine needles), associated with notes of sweet spices (liquorice, cardamom and star anise) and flowers (wild rose, violet). The palate is tense and tight, with bitterness on the attack and grainy, but not astringent, tannins, balanced by a salivating acidity. The flavors are fruity (blackcurrant, morello cherry, blackberry, black plum, liquorice, violet, pine needles). The finish is rather persistent, with bitterness and juiciness. A tense and rather firm wine.
