The nose is delicious, woody and spicy, with a juicy fruitiness. We find notes of morello cherry, roasted red cherry, crushed blackcurrant, blueberry, a little raspberry, peony, liquorice, wild mint, toasted hazelnut, pine sap and pine needles. The palate is juicy and enveloping, fruity (morello cherry, blackcurrant, raspberry), with a touch of peony, as well as fresh wood, and a tannic touch of bird cherry which emerges on the finish. The tannins are fine, but grippy. A nice acidity, the finish is quite persistent, straight, juicy, structured and fleshy.
