The wine has a deep ruby colour. The nose is reserved at first, but opens up after aeration. It offers a beautiful concentration and a lot of elegance. Ripe fruit aromas are present, expressing juicy notes of morello cherry, blue plum, red cherry, blackcurrant, black currant liqueur, crushed strawberry, wild blackberry, with a refined and subtle floral bouquet (fresh blueberry, rose, lily, violet). The second nose reveals subtle notes of sweet spices (cinnamon, liquorice, white pepper, star anise in the background) and aromatic herbs (peppermint, fresh rosemary, sage), which amplify its complexity. On the palate, the wine offers roundness, gourmandise and firmness. The flavours are ripe and juicy (cherry, blackberry, blueberry, red cherry, wild strawberry), spicy and savoury, complemented by notes of roasted meat, roasted herbs, black pepper, liquorice, nutmeg. The finish is long, concentrated and complex: the ripe fruit notes are complemented by fine floral touches of violet, dried blueberry and rose petal. Beautiful structure, composed by firm and solid tannins, still young and a bit dry, and by a lively acidity. A wine that is capable of evolving, to be kept for several years.
