The nose is fruity and fine grained. There are notes of pulpy blackberry, crushed strawberry and more slightly crushed berries combined with fine hints of violet as well as fine pepper, a discreet hint of liquorice and a subtle touch of cardamom. The palate is fruity, balanced and offers good freshness, minerality, good definition, roundness, some tension and a fresh/acidic structure. A fine compactness. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy/fresh blackberry, crushed blackcurrant and more slightly violet combined with hints of liquorice, cardamom as well as fine hints of racy honey, a subtle hint of tonka bean, graphite (in the background) and a very discreet touch of pepper. The tannins are well-managed. A discreet hint of bitterness from the cocoa in the background.
