The nose shows some controlled power, freshness, intensity and a fine grain. There are notes of boysenberry, fresh plum and, to a lesser extent, cuben pepper, combined with hints of bright red berries, as well as fine hints of tobacco, zan, a discreet hint of mineral, pepper and a very discreet hint of camphor (in the background). The palate is fruity and reveals freshness, minerality, a juicy/fresh frame, good definition, some tension/crispness and a discreetly tight gain. On the palate this wine expresses juicy/pulpy blackberry, juicy/pulpy blackcurrant and more lightly fresh violet notes combined with a touch of iris, pepper and fine points of camphor, cardamom and a subtle hint of racy minerality and spice. The tannins are smooth.
