The wine shows a medium deep, opaque ruby colour with a brightening rim. The nose is dense and spicy, revealing notes of black cherries, blue plums and a touch of blackberries, all complicated by the intense notes of cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg. The palate is dominated by oak at the moment, showing rich notes of fresh cut wood and cigar box, the black fruits stay in the background. The tannins are grippy but well-managed and ripe. A touch of bitterness on the finish adds to the overall freshness and sapidity.
