Château Belair-Coubet 2019 – Côtes de Bourg

The nose is fruity and offers a small power, a small concentration. It reveals notes of crushed strawberry, crushed redcurrant, small notes of fleshy cassis associated with touches of small flowers, cornflower, lilac, pepper as well as hints of toasted, caramelized almond, tonka bean, spices and an imperceptible hint of coffee (in the background). The palate is fruity, well-balanced and offers an acidulous frame, juiciness, a good definition, gourmandize, a fresh/fleshy style, tension, a certain straightness, pulpiness, a very fine freshness and tension. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fleshy/pulpy cassis, blackberry, small notes of crushed strawberry associated with touches of crushed redcurrant, strawberry flowers, violet, cardamom, tonka bean as well as fine hints of vanilla, a discreet hint of toasted hazelnut (in the background). Tannins are well-built and finely chewy. Good length.
