The nose is spicy. The wine benefits from being decanted. There are notes of ripe wild red berries, liquorice and slightly blackberry with fine vanilla and a subtle hint of racy minerality/grey pepper. The palate is fruity with minerality, tension, sharpness/precision, acidity and elegance. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy blackberry, crunchy raspberry and more slightly vanilla combined with hints of juicy/fresh cherry as well as fine nuances of racy minerality, liquorice, chocolate and an imperceptible almost sappy edge (in the background). The tannins are fine and discreetly tight. Good length. A subtle hint of coffee on the finish.
