Château Barre Gentillot – Vieilles Vignes 2023 – Graves de Vayres

(White. Released early April) Lovely elegant nose, fruity and offers substance, gourmandise, a certain roundness, intensity in gourmandise as well as a fine chiseled side. We find notes of quenette, pulpy vine peach and small notes of fresh lychee associated with subtle hints of lemon blossom and discreet almost buttery hints. The palate is nicely mineral, chiseled, all in accuracy, generous, gourmet and offers a nice purity of fruit as well as a spherical side of the material. Nice finesse / crystalline side in its fat (accuracy of the stirring on lees). On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy vine peach, pulpy nectarine and small notes of apple associated with fine touches of white flowers, cherry blossom as well as a subtle hint of quenette and pear blossom. A very discreet hint of fresh butter in the background. Nice persistence.
