Château Ascension 2020 – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru

Château Ascension 2020 – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru

On the nose it is elegant, gourmandize, controlled richness, a certain potency, concentration (in control) as well as a fine airy character in its richness. It reveals the notes of bright blackberry, raspberry and more slightly creamy purple plum associated with touches of pulpy/juicy cherry, violet as well as fine points of camphor, star anise and discreet points of cardamom. The palate is fruity, balanced, well conducted and offers good definition, gourmandize, a certain creaminess (justly controlled), fine grain, roundness, concentration, freshness, a tangy frame and an airy character. The wine express the notes of pulpy/juicy cassis, creamy blackberry and more slightly pulpy/fresh/acidulated currant combined with hints of cherry as well as creamy blue plum, blueberry/lys, cardamon, cocoa/mocha and fine vanilla. The tannins are precise, structuring, mellow and discreetly tight.
