The nose is spicy and shows some intensity and power, fine grain and depth. There are notes of boysenberry, grey pepper and more lightly fresh/crisp berries combined with delicate hints of lily, iris as well as fine hints of sweet spice, nutmeg and vanilla. The palate is fruity, fresh and reveals minerality, acidity, some lightness on the mid-palate, roundness, volume, an acidic spine, good work on the bitter taste. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of pulpy/fresh blackcurrant, fresh raspberry and, more slightly, iris and pistil, combined with hints of violet and chocolate, as well as delicate hints of sweet blond tobacco and fine points of fresh hazelnut and nutmeg.
