Château Angélus 2021 – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, Grand Cru Classé A

(60% Cabernet Franc, 40% Merlot)

The nose is fruity, fresh, elegant, racy and offers a fine firmness as well as a fine velvety side. Beautiful grain. It reveals notes of fresh/creamy blueberry, boysenberry and small notes of quite ripe strawberry associated with touches of fresh blond tobacco, flowers as well as a discreet hint of spices. The palate is beautifully structured, fresh, well-balanced, mineral and offers tension, precision, an acidulous structure, a slight firmness, acidity, a very slight creaminess, straightness as well as race. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fleshy blueberry, creamy blackberry and small notes of fresh flowers associated with touches of fresh/pulpy raspberry as well as hints of cornflowers and chocolate. Tannins are mellow, gourmands, precise, straight and structured. A nice salinity. Gourmande and chewy finish. A very nice freshness on the finish. A wine that reveals itself slowly, which requires patience.
