The nose reveals certain power in elegance, nice fine grain, intensity in control and good definition. There are notes of blackcurrant, cherry and more lightly pulpy blackberry combined with hints of grey pepper, fresh nutmeg as well as fine zan, a hint of peony and a subtle hint of sweet spices. The palate is fruity and reveals minerality, juiciness, a little sweetness, certain gourmandize, freshness, acidic spine, tension, energy as well as fine concentration. On the palate this wine expresses juicy/ripe blackcurrant, pulpy blackberry and slightly blueberry notes combined with hints of violet and fine crushed red berry fruit as well as hints of liquorice and a subtle touch of sweet blond tobacco. The tannins are elegant and relatively soft.
