Château  Fonréaud  2016 – Listrac-En-Médoc

The nose is fruity, well-balanced and offers a good definition, a fine concentration as well as a very fine intensity. It reveals notes of cassis, crunchy raspberry and small notes of Cuben pepper associated with fine touches of wild small fruits, violet/lily, liquorice and spices. The palate is fruity, well-balanced and offers a good definition, a mineral frame, elegance, gourmandize, a beautiful grain, juiciness as well as a certain finesse. On the palate this wine expresses notes of blackberry, fleshy cassis and small notes of crunchy wild strawberry associated with touches of flowers (violet, lily), liquorice as well as discreet hints of zan, gray pepper, tobacco and very discreet hints of dark chocolate (in the background). Tannins are fine and well-built. There are hints of chocolate and caramelization on the finish/persistence.
