Charly Nicolle 2019, Ante MCMLXXX – Chablis

The nose is fresh, elegant and reveals some power, fine grain and complexity. There are notes of kumquat, physalis and more slightly yellow peach combined with hints of tangerine peel, fine nutmeg, sweet spices and a discreet hint of flint and brioche. The palate is fruity, balanced and offers juiciness, smoothness, good definition, gourmandize, finesse in its volume, a nice acidic backbone, energy, a certain aromatic purity, precision and a nice little stretch. On the palate, the wine expresses notes of quince, sour and crisp fruits combined with touches of juicy tangerine, kumquat as well as fine nuances of fresh verbena, crisp apple, delicate hints of flowers, spices and a discreet touch of brioche. Subtle note of positive bitterness on the finish. Good length.
