Champagne Lanson Le Rosé Création 67 – Champagne Rosé

(based on 2019 harvest, 30% reserve wines, disgorged 11/2023) The wine has a pale salmon pink color. The nose is subtly fragrant, slightly bitter (grapefruit and cranberries) and tangy. It expresses notes of dried raspberry, gariguette strawberry, bigarreau cherry, a juicy touch of morello cherry, as well as a hint of cranberries. After aeration, we find toasted and spicy aromas (a very fine hint of toasted almond, praline, nutmeg and cloves in the background), as well as light lactic notes (cherry yogurt) and floral hints (peony, wild rose), associated with a chalky minerality. On the palate, on the attack, we find this distinguished, slightly drying minerality, which continues in the mid-palate with notes of fresh raspberry, gariguette strawberry, bigarreau red cherry, a touch of grapefruit with its bitterness. The mid-palate offers notes of rose, peony, a hint of cherry yogurt and cloves (as well as nutmeg in the background). The finish is long and lemony, with notes of grapefruit zest and lemon and a roundness of vine peach which completes the profile. Beautiful tension and balance, liveliness and accuracy. The bubbles are generous and fine.
