Champagne Deutz, one of the founding members of the Syndicat des Grandes Marques, was established in 1882 by William Deutz et Hubert Geldermann and remained in the same very central location in Aÿ ever since. The Deutz style is a dense and tense one, definitely destined to connoisseurs and appreciative of distinction and finesse. Their prestige Cuvée, Amour de Deutz 2008 is a vintage Blanc de Blancs from Grand cru vineyards in Avize & le Mesnil-sur-Oger as well as the chardonnay dominated premier cru in Montagne de Reims, Villers-Marmery. It’s a polished & sophisticated wine with tension joined by the impressive quality level and complexity, yet with a very approachable and silky texture. The rich nose of Brioche, almonds, honey and delicate white flowers compose this fragrant nectar. It comes from a great Champagne vintage, giving it both intensity and an acidity built for long term aging.
