Champagne Bollinger La Grande Année Rosé 2015 – Champagne Rosé

The wine has a salmon pink color with orange hints and numerous fine bubbles. The nose is deep, vinous and fleshy, velvety and complex. It expresses the aromas of ripe and juicy red fruits, with a slight sweetness of fruit jam: we find in particular the aromas of wild strawberry, gariguette strawberry, raspberry coulis, berberis, morello cherry and tangy bigarreau cherry. Then, the nose reveals elegant floral scents of rose, peony, wild rose, as well as a touch of cherry blossom and poppy. On the second nose, we find a fine toasted touch and spiciness (toasted bitter almond, nutmeg, cloves, a hint of toasted wood and apricot kernel), combined with a lactic touch of cherry yogurt, brioche and red fruit pastry cream. On the palate, we find complexity, tension, a refined vinous texture, a very long finish and a chiseled and precise acidity. The flavors are juicy and gourmand: the attack reflects the nose in notes of bigarreau cherry, gariguette strawberry, wild strawberry, morello cherry and raspberry coulis and is completed by a touch of goji berries and red currants. In the mid-palate, we find fleshy notes of vine peach and red apple, associated with a lactic hint of cherry yogurt, a toasted and slightly bitter nuance of almond and apricot kernel, clove, as well as red fruit pastry cream and brioche. Floral notes of peony, wild rose, a hint of faded rose and the bitterness of grapefruit appear on the persistence, at the end of the palate. The foam is very fine and silky, the finish is very long and complex (all the groups of aromas can be found there – red fruits in the cherry, toasted in the almond note and tangy in the grapefruit note). A great Champagne, powerful and elegant.
