The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose is aromatic and fleshy. It expresses notes of crushed strawberry, roasted red cherry, morello cherry, red currant jam, juicy red plum and vine peach in the background. After aeration, we find refreshing aromas of peppermint, menthol, fresh tobacco, as well as an enveloped and tasty spiciness (liquorice, cardamom, nutmeg, white pepper), a fine floral touch of peony and toasted notes (toasted oak, toasted hazelnut, a touch of chocolate), combined with notes of roasted thyme and rosemary in the background. The palate is gourmand, very fruity, even a little sweet. The attack is juicy, round, but fresh and tangy. It expresses the flavors of crushed wild strawberries, ripe morello cherries, roasted red cherries in the background, red currant jelly, raspberry coulis, as well as cranberry syrup. Then, we find the herbaceous notes of fresh tobacco, peppermint, as well as a savoury spiciness (nutmeg, cumin, liquorice, a hint of vanilla and cardamom), sweet notes of dark chocolate, morello cherry chocolate, as well as peony and iris in the background. The finish is straight, chiseled and fresh. It expresses a salivating acidity, a good bitterness and smokiness reminiscent of bergamot as well as a fresh touch of red cherry. The tannins are firm and powerful, but fine and silky.
