The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose is deep, concentrated and complex. The first nose expresses notes of ripe fruit and a hint of dried fruit: morello cherry, blackcurrant, dried red cherry, blueberry, wild strawberry, crushed raspberry, as well as crème de cassis. On the second nose, we find a distinct but elegant spiciness: notes of liquorice (even of star anise), nutmeg, cloves, as well as a very slight touch of vanilla and toast. Then, the wine offers subtle floral and herbaceous aromas: of rose, lily, dried mint, bay leaf and fresh tobacco. The palate is precise, straight and concentrated, with a nice freshness. It expresses the flavors of wild strawberry, morello cherry, dried red cherry, dried cranberries, crushed raspberry, combined with spicy touches (clove, liquorice, a hint of vanilla and cumin), herbaceous notes (dried mint) and floral bouquet (dried rose, lily). The tannins are well-built : firm, but fine and not drying. The finish is long, gourmand and savoury, with a nice acidity which balances the wine and brings freshness. A pleasant bitterness and a touch of mint in the background. A wine to keep, concentrated and refined.
