Castello di Rada, Vigna il Corno 2018 – Chianti Classico Gran Selezione

The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose offers a fresh and tangy fruity substance, with a gourmet touch of roasted coffee, dark chocolate and sweet spices. It expresses in particular the aromas of ripe morello cherry, wild strawberry, crushed wild raspberry, liquorice, grated nutmeg, white pepper, combined with a hint of cocoa, fresh hazelnut, toasted almond, as well as an airy floral scent (withered rose, lily), crushed mint, tobacco in the background and a delicate tertiary side (wet leaves). The palate is juicy and enveloping, with a fresh and tangy attack, with notes of red cherry, crushed raspberry, tangy strawberry, red currant and morello cherry in the background, combined with spicy notes (nutmeg, sweet pepper, a touch of licorice), herbs (peppermint, fresh tobacco), flowers (peony tops, lily), as well as a tangy hint of cocoa nibs, tobacco and wet leaves. The finish is persistent, sapid, peppery and slightly bitter (a tangy grapefruit bitterness). The tannins are polished and structured, wrapped in a beautiful salivating acidity. Tension, complexity and a certain density in this refined wine.
