The wine shows a medium deep ruby colour with a brightening rim. The nose is dense, oaky, revealing notes of dark stewed cherries, a touch of blackberries, liquorice, dried herbs and coffee. The palate is powerful with linear attack, elevated acidity and chalky, slightly drying tannins. The wines some ferrous nuances, crunchy black cherries, dark berries and spices. The finish is refreshing and simple.
