The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose initially expresses distinct woody notes of fresh wood, toasted wood, toasted almond and cocoa nibs, wrapped in a juicy and tangy fruit (raspberry, red cherry, cranberries, crushed blueberry). After aeration, we find the sappy and minty notes of pine sap, wild mint, as well as tobacco, a very fragrant floral bouquet (rose, fresh peony), a mineral touch (limestone), as well as spices (licorice tending towards star anise, nutmeg, a hint of vanilla). The palate is lively, chiseled and tangy, with good bitterness and a gourmand toasted and spicy side on the attack (we find flavors that reflect the aromas on the nose – toasted almond, toasted wood, coffee, cocoa nibs, licorice, nutmeg, a hint of star anise). The fruit on the palate is juicy and ripe, with notes of morello cherry, raspberry, red cherry, cranberry, and strawberry, as well as fresh bouquet garni and a pleasant bitterness of bergamot tea. The tannins are firm and well-built, with a solid (but not astringent) structure, which gives it good aging potential. Lovely, mouth-watering acidity and a fine floral bouquet persist. A precise, taut, and balanced wine.
