Castello di Cacchiano – Millennio 2010 – Chianti Classico Gran Selezione

The nose is fruity and offers power, concentration, a small complexity as well as a beautiful grain. The wine needs to be decanted. It reveals notes of wild blackberry, wild cassis and small notes of crunchy / crushed redcurrant, strawberry associated with small notes of sweet spices, vanilla bean, cardamom, garrigue / olive, toasted oak, sweet tobacco and chocolate. The palate is fruity, well-balanced, suave, aerial and offers a nice minerality, juiciness, a beautiful roundness, a beautiful finesse, a small tension as well as a beautiful acid frame. On the palate this wine expresses notes of redcurrant, blackberry and small notes of crunchy cassis associated with fine touches of Bigarreau cherry, colas, licorice as well as fine touches of black olive, vanilla Bourbon, spices, sweet tobacco and tonka bean. Tannins are well-built. Good length. The persistence is gourmande. There are touches of caramelization, vanilla as well as a hint of chocolate and almond on the persistence.
