The wine has a medium-deep purple colour with a garnet tinge. The nose is slightly muted and reductive and needs aeration in the glass. It opens up with notes of liquored cherries, cherry drupe, almons, a touch of dried cranberries, goji berries, barberry, some menthol and some macchia, eucalyptus in the echo. The palate is juicy, fresh, offering nice fruit concentration, fresh acidity and controlled power. The wines demonstrates notes of dried and fresh red cherries, dried cranberries, a touch of cinnamon, combined with fine savoury and balsamic notes. A very classical, traditional style with a warming, spicy, savoury finish.
