The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose offers concentration and a ripe and juicy fruitiness, even a bit sweet. It expresses notes of wild strawberry, morello cherry, red cherry jam, raspberry coulis, redcurrant jelly, blackberry, crushed blackcurrant and blueberry jam, combined with sweet spices (licorice, cloves, ground cumin, crushed coriander seeds), flowers (dried rose, violet, cornflower in the background), dried herbs (dried thyme, dried rosemary, dried mint), as well as a touch of torrefaction (toasted hazelnut, coffee), cocoa and cherry in chocolate, chocolate with mint and balsamic. The mouth is tight, even closed. It expresses grippy tannins, dry, but sapid, softened by a salivating acidity. The flavors are fresh and fruity: we find notes of wild strawberry, tangy bigarreau cherry, morello cherry, raspberry, blackcurrant, as well as a herbaceous hint (rosemary, dried mint, thyme, bay leaf), a floral touch (dried rose), notes of sweet spices (licorice, cumin, clove) and a bitter and smoky touch of bergamot on the finish. A powerful and structured wine, which needs time to round out.
