CastelGiocondo 2019 – Brunello di Montalcino

CastelGiocondo 2019 – Brunello di Montalcino

The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose is complex, deep and fresh. First, we smell notes of fresh tobacco, a touch of wet leaves and liquorice, which are then complemented by aromas of juicy fruits (morello cherry, fresh strawberry, fresh red cherry, roasted red cherry, a hint of blackcurrant), with an expressive aroma of balsamic, savoury herbaceous notes (fresh bay leaf, rosemary, oregano), as well as a peppery side (crushed black pepper, a touch of pink pepper). We also find a wrapped toasted side (toasted almond, toasted wood in the background, cocoa) and floral notes (dried rose, even lavender). The palate is straight, structured and firm, but offers an airy side and a juiciness of fresh fruits (morello cherry, red cherry, cranberries), as well as a hint of roasted and dried fruits (roasted red cherry, dried cranberries, dried blackcurrant). . We also find tertiary notes of dried tobacco, wet leaves, as well as a tasty spicy side (licorice, black pepper, pink pepper) and refreshing herbaceous touches (fresh bay leaf, oregano, rosemary) and a fine floral bouquet (lavender , dried rose). The tannins are grippy and powerful, but with a fine texture. The finish is persistent, with good bitterness and salivating acidity. A refined, dense, racy, straight and structured wine, with powerful elegance and a rich aromatic profile.
