Cascina Maria Barbaresco 2022 – Barbaresco

The wine has a pale ruby color. The nose offers freshness and a tangy and juicy fruitiness. It expresses notes of stewed red cherry, morello cherry, crushed strawberry, ripe raspberry, associated with delicate woody and spicy hints (liquorice, a hint of crushed clove and cardamom, vanilla in the background, toasted hazelnut, toasted wood in the background), a herbaceous touch (dried mint, a touch of rose stem), as well as a racy minerality (dry stone, limestone) which appears after aeration. The palate is airy, juicy, fruity, but quite robust, thanks to structured tannins and a lively salivating acidity. It expresses notes of tart red cherry, cranberries, raspberry and morello cherry, combined with spicy touches (liquorice, cardamom, a hint of nutmeg), toasted (toasted hazelnut, toasted wood in the background) and herbaceous (dried mint, a touch of rose stem). The finish is persistent, fruity, chocolatey, even a bit warming.
