Nice nose with some richness, a fine intensity and a fine peppery edge. There are notes of crushed blackcurrant, fleshy cherry and, more slightly, wild strawberry, combined with hints of violet, blueberry and discreet hints of star anise, cardamom, pepper and an imperceptible hint of laurel berries. The palate is nicely mineral and delicate, offering freshness, a certain fluidity (in a positive sense) and a fine acidic frame. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fresh sour plum, fresh sour cherry and more slightly violet combined with hints of star anise, fresh vanilla bean and a subtle touch of chocolate. The tannins are supple and elegant. Good length. Subtle chewiness on the finish/persistence.
