In Castelnuovo Don Bosco, this small family business is doing better and better making wines which great level of quality it has achieved in recent years, especially with its Freisa reds and the latest Albugnano Superiore Notturno, 100% Nebbiolo. A rise started in 1983, the year the winery was founded. The young Paolo Vergnano is assisted in the cellar by oenologist Gianpiero Gerbi, who has selected the best batch of grapes cultivated on clay marl and an important limestone component in Schierano. A lower use of barrique in favor of large casks gives to this wine (aged for 12 months), a mouth-watering, rich and agile mouthfeel with fruity, red citrus and woody yeast returns.
