The nose is spicy, powerful, finely concentrated, with a fine airiness to the approach. There are notes of pulpy/dense red plum, bigarreau cherry and more lightly of violet combined with fine points of nutmeg, zan, black olive and a discreet hint of olive and pepper. The palate is fruity, with minerality, gourmandize, juiciness, precision, cleanliness, and an acidic backbone. On the palate this wine expresses juicy/acidic blackberry, black cherry and slightly violet notes with hints of red currant as well as subtle hints of local forest, sage, discrete salinity and a subtle hint of olive and spice, freshness and stretch, good guidance, nice acidity on the finish/persistence. The tannins are supple, sapid and racy.
