The wine has a deep ruby color with slight purple reflections. The nose is reserved at first and requires aeration. It then expresses the fruity notes of black plum, morello cherry, wild strawberry, roasted red cherry, crushed raspberry, dried blackcurrant, associated with light herbaceous notes (dried mint, fresh tobacco, fresh rosemary), spiciness (licorice, nutmeg, ground cumin) and a hint of torrefaction (toasted hazelnut, heated wood), with a touch of dried wild flowers in the background. The palate offers roundness, supple tannins, as well as fresh and juicy fruitiness. It expresses notes of fresh strawberry, crushed raspberry, wild blackberry, morello cherry and roasted red cherry, combined with notes of roasted bouquet garni, fresh tobacco, dried rose (in the background), liquorice, nutmeg, as well as torrefaction (toasted hazelnut, coffee). The finish is quite persistent and gourmand – it offers flavors of crushed black plum and cherry in chocolate, combined with a good bitterness. The tannins are finely tight, but enveloped. Nice acidity and good balance.
