Carruades de Lafite 2023 – Pauillac

A lovely powdery nose, elegant, complex, with a fine elegant austerity. It expresses notes of boysenberry, small fleshy/bright fruits and more slightly – crushed strawberry, associated with touches of infusion, toast as well as hints of star anise, saffron (in its floral side) and fine hints of cubeb pepper and has a discreet hint of vanilla and lilac. The palate is nicely juicy, fruity and offers freshness, minerality, good definition, gourmandise, juiciness, a tangy frame, a fine crystalline side. It expresses notes of juicy/pulpy blueberry, bright raspberry and more slightly – violet, lilac, associated with touches of tonka bean, cardamom, as well as fine hints of tonka bean, wisteria and infusion. The tannins are sapid and tasty. Good length. Taste and deliciousness on the finish/persistence.
