The wine has a medium to deep ruby color. The nose opens after aeration and expresses notes of ripe morello cherry, roasted red cherry, wild strawberry, crushed raspberry, as well as black plum, wild blackberry and blueberry, combined with spicy minty aromas (liquorice, a hint of crushed cardamom), aromatic herbs (bay leaf, a hint of thyme, tobacco) and roasted (smoke, coffee, mint chocolate, toasted almond). The palate is savory, slightly tight on the attack, but more open in the middle, with notes of dried red fruits (dried red cherry, dried blackcurrant), which are then complemented by notes of morello cherry, red strawberry cherry, wild strawberry and crushed raspberry. Then there are notes of liquorice, white pepper, crushed cardamom, as well as dried bouquet garni, roasting (toasted, smoked, coffee), dry tobacco and dried rose. The tannins are powdery, enveloping, velvety and chalky. The finish is persistent, with a tangy red cherry structure and a distinct cocoa-like and toasted hint. A dense, complex wine, reserved for the moment, but with potential.
