The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose expresses a lively tangy and herbaceous frame (red cherry, cranberries, raspberry, blackcurrant, combined with notes of dried pine needles and peppermint). There is also a spicy side, which opens with a distinct note of black pepper, then combined with touches of licorice (even star anise) and grated nutmeg. The aromas of roasting (coffee, toasted wood, toasted hazelnut) and dried aromatic herbs are delicate and enveloping. After aeration, there is also a pleasant sappy touch and a fragrant floral bouquet (peony, rose). The palate is sapid and offers on the attack a good bitterness of grapefruit, cranberries and coffee, combined with the juiciness of red cherry, raspberry and morello cherry. It also expresses notes of cocoa, toasted hazelnut, licorice, a hint of nutmeg and dried aromatic herbs, as well as fresh tobacco and dried peony. The tannins are fine, enveloping and firm, with good structure. The acidity is fresh and mouth-watering. The finish is quite persistent, sapid, with good bitterness and the juiciness of red fruits. Precision, directness and freshness in this wine.
