Carpineto 2020 – Chianti Classico Gran Selezione

Carpineto 2020 – Chianti Classico Gran Selezione

The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose is refined, concentrated and textured, finely chocolatey. It expresses notes of ripe morello cherry, black plum, wild blackberry, roasted red cherry, wild strawberry, raspberry jam, combined with touches of cocoa powder, chocolate red cherry, prunes in chocolate, dark chocolate with mint, with a distinct but integrated spiciness (liquorice stick, star anise, clove, nutmeg), with a bouquet of fresh flowers (violet, rose, cornflower, lily), peppermint and notes of torrefaction in the background (ground coffee, caramelized hazelnut), as well as a tangy and smoky touch of bergamot and blood orange that appear after aeration. The palate offers gourmandise, elegance in its power and concentrated fruitiness. It expresses the flavors of fresh morello cherry (with a touch of macerated morello cherry), fresh wild plum, wild blackberry, wild strawberry, cherry and raspberry jam, as well as a hint of blackcurrant and blueberry. We also find spiciness (liquorice, nutmeg, clove), floral notes (rose, lily, iris) and a hint of torrefaction (mild coffee, toasted hazelnut), refreshed by a fine herbaceous nuance (peppermint, basil). The tannins are tight on attack, but sapid, fine and balanced by the juiciness of the fruits and a lively acidity. The wine is closed at the moment and needs time to open.
